We conduct a needs assessment and evaluate the skill of available weather and climate information and forecasts and remote sensing technology to improve access to water and pasture in pastoral communities experiencing environmental degradation and land-use conflict (Ilboudo Nébié, West and Crane 2020). We collaborate with the Financial Instruments Sector Team at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society at Columbia University to evaluate the feasibility of livestock insurance in Senegal.
