THE NEBIE LAB
Our lab explores human-environment interactions, mixing GIS and remote sensing technology with ethnography to examine environmental changes, climate adaptation and food security.
We engage in interdisciplinary research that places local communities at the center and values the diversity of people, identities and cultures in advancing scientific knowledge, equity and positive social change.
We use participatory mapping approaches to involve vulnerable and poorly-studied groups such as women & pastoralists in ground-truthing remotely-sensed imagery.
